Wall Tiles (Subway)
Subway tiles are a type of rectangular ceramic or porcelain tile that is commonly used for wall and backsplash applications in kitchens and bathrooms. They are named after the tiles used in New York City's subway stations in the early 20th century, which were typically 3 inches by 6 inches in size.
Subway tiles are now available in a range of sizes and colors, and can be installed in a variety of patterns, such as the classic brick or offset pattern, herringbone, and vertical or horizontal stack. They are popular for their clean and classic look, as well as their versatility and durability.
Subway tiles are typically glazed and non-porous, making them resistant to moisture and staining. They are also easy to clean and maintain, which makes them a popular choice for kitchen backsplashes and bathroom walls. Additionally, because of their popularity, subway tiles are widely available and affordable, making them an accessible option for many homeowners and designers.
